Greetings all Astronites!
There has been something lacking at the Astronomican since our move onto this lovely new site. And that something is a public gallery where we can post up pictures of our Games Workshop models for the community to praise/scrutinise/have a good chuckle at! (Scratch that last one.) So, the mod and admin team is going to create some new galleries!
Although we do currently have the personal galleries, these are rather obscure and disjointed-they simply don’t bring the sense of unity and community that one big gallery brings. Plus, it means that we will now all know where to look to find the fantastic work of the Astronomican community!
So, those are just some of the many advantages of a public, centralised gallery. But how will it work? Well, it’s going to be integrated into the current forum (unlike the gallery from previous ages that were separate). Both Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40,000 will have a forum each, and within each forum will be sub-forums for the different armies (as well as miscellaneous models). These forums will be for FINISHED models only; Works-in-progress must still go in the modelling sections. Also, these galleries are for pictures only, with a small piece of accompanying text. Anyone can post in these threads with some crit or praise, but it is not a place for debate or lengthy conversations! If the author wishes to respond, then they should do so via PM or elsewhere; the gallery is not a conventional forum, it is for posting up images only.
Please Note - feel free to seperate your pictures between multiple threads. So, if you have a Necron Lord, Tomb Spyder and a set of Warriors, then by all means create 3 seperate threads instead of bunching all the pictures within a single thread. It will give you a better exposure!
Cheers
GJ

Just to bring attention to this again because I've seen a bit of both:
1) Post FINISHED, PAINTED minis in the gallery ONLY. All WIPs should go in the modeling forum
2) Please, keep any comments on pictures in the gallery to just that, comments (or criticism or both!). Any questions about the mini or about the paintwork should be directed VIA PM to the user. This keeps the threads free of clutter and easy for viewing/navigation
Thank you all!
