Default Question for Tyranid Players (and partially for all other savage, mindless armies)

Lately I had doubts about my relationship with the Great Devourer - I imagined that when I will play with them I'd feel good and powerful but the experience seemed to be a bit dull.

Yes, the 'Nids are awesome and powerful and they look cool but there's nothing beyond that - no goal, mindless, nothing I can relate to.

So here is my question to Tyranid, Ork, Necrons, Tau, Black Templars, Space Wolves, Ultramarines, GK and Sisters of Battle (and chapters from the SM codex) players - What drives you to play them? Do you relate to them? I mean from my PoV they are (and no offence to anyone, this is just my opinion of course) a bit flat to me unlike the Eldar, Dark Eldar,, DAs, BAs, CSM who seem to have a much deeper background.

This is mostly directed at Tyranid players but of course everyone is welcome to share their opinions about why they play the army they play and what motivates them to play as that specific army.

    Cheers,
    Viciator

Well, I enjoy orks because they are unreliable and have a tendancy to do the unexpected and are just plain fun.

Space wolves are effectively Space Vikings and considering that is a topic I am rather interested in and have researched quite a bit they speak to me as well.

My other army is the Raven Guard. I have always been a fan of stealth tactics and the fact that they fight for the people, rather than the symbol of the imperium, there have been one or two occurences where the 3rd (under Shrike) have refused to join other imperial armies on worlds where battle rages hardest, instead preferring to fight on planest already abandoned by the main imperial army to save and protect the still loyal citizens on them. Shrike is to orks what snikkrot is to imperial guardsmen (their worst nightmare)

With the Nids, at least for me as a long-time fan and player, I'd have to say it is the feel of playing with an entity of galactic proportion and massive predatory instinct. While the rest of you guys out here dabble with opinions, arguments and individuals, the Hivefleet is a single, vastly alien entity of unbreakable resolve. While there isn't exactly a clear end game goal for the Nids (it would seem the 40K universe is just a small part of their voyage), you get to play with a true force of (galactic) nature that doesn't fall into the normal niches of good / evil commonly seen amongst most of the other factions in the game.
