I won't feel this at all, I've stopped buying models for my CSM army years ago, now I just buy an occasional set to fool around with some new painting techniques. For the aged gamer, this shouldn't bother us at all, we have huge reserves of models, most of which we don't use.

The new gamer on the other hand, is getting pwned.

    True

I still have about 500 points of Black Templars to paint (LRC, a drop pod and infantry), 1500 of Imperial Guard still unpacked in boxes, 750 points of Grey Knights (5 termies, 5 pagks and a deadknight) in boxes, 500 points of Eldar (aspect warriors, wraithlord and war walkers), 250 points of Tau (devilfish and broadsides) and a crapton of terrain that needs assembling and painting too.

And I was about to start Necrons, imagine that ^^

What I don't get, is THIS:

Their pricing makes sense. if, and only if, you are a homeless creationist with no tongue, one eye, who's hooked on Iho sticks.

I mean, Slap my ass and call me Taffy, I don't even have to explain.
GW's problem is, they think their models are Romeo y Jullieta (Churchill) cigars,
and they charge a cigar price for them, when in fact they're just Sobranie Cigarettes,
    Good. But no cigar.

They take the most wanted one (melta) combine it with another plasma, and give it the price of... A fine cast IC? That makes a lot of since. Almost as much since as each Orygn (arguably the worst unit in the IG codex) costing $22 EACH. Does GW really expect people to buy these? Especially since you can buy 5 melta guns for 9 bucks. It just doesn't make since to me.

P.S. Not trying to GW bash, it just makes me shake my head

Orygns go okay if you combine them with Yarraik, making them fearless.

For a company that persues the young dollar, Kirby said that they are in the busines of making toys for children, it really does make me shake my head at the prices of the so called entry stuff.

Taking aside the cost of some of the other stuff Space Marines which in their own admission are the biggest seller have had some massive price increases.

No company has an elastic price range, from our point of view we can just not buy and still have a game, however if you have a small army and have just started would you sink your money into marines. Or buy gold for you investment.

Methinks Kirby and co want to get their golden parachutes ready for retirement in the next couple of years.

GW prices have always been a bit higher than other companies, but because a lot of people played them you were certain of a game anywhere anytime. That to me was why I paid the higher prices that and the fluff.

I see my local being empty most times I pass it, to me the biggest thing this increase is going to do is slow down the social aspect of the shops. We already have problems arranging games but with pressure from up top to generate more profit the managers will be hard selling the entry stuff even more.

Again the price range doesnt really effect me, I will choosenot to buy and still be able to play. But I do think this will loose me opponents and coupled with the pulling out of support for the tournaments and conventions who knows I see shades of TSR ghost of past in the mix.

TSR a company that was huge, mainstream battletech stuff in Virgin stores. Management decided they knew what was best and made all sorts of fasinating decisions on pricing and went very insular and took the customers for granted.

    Sound familar?

Don't forget, there is a true "Starter Set" (Though we dont know when the 6th ed starter set will be launched). I'm going to wait and see how that is priced I think.

    Dark Angels vs Chaos Marines
    DA Vs Eldar
    DA Vs Tau
