Default How to paint Grey Knights with the new GW Citadel paints

I have spent 20+ hours creating a comprehensive guide to painting the above model in just 39 simple steps using the new Citadel paints.

I've only quickly looked into how you've done it on your link, but I'm impressed!

I've seen that you use a lot of the Lahriman Medium in stages, but it's not something I've seen used/played around with yet - what does the Medium actually do when you mix it with paints?

Why not just paint using a basecoat + Chainmail (or Mithril Silver if you want brighter GKs) and then go over them with a wash to shade the crevices? (of course, the new paint equivalents are also meant).

I wonder why one needs so many layers and mixtures and ratios of different paints to make a model look good, when a simple paintjob can yield the same result (and *not* make your model look shoddy at all) unless of course you want them on a GW or Golden Demon display.

    Just wondering ^^

Ah if you'd read the tutorial, you'd find the answer to your question.

You won't get the same effect with a quick wash. Try it.

These are just table top standard not GD, but washes aren't the answer to everything. Blending is a far nicer and visually appealing effect. You couldn't paint that sword with washes
