Goodness, very tough choice. All the entries are pretty fantastic, but after much deliberation, I have to go with Alex. Everyone should be proud of their works, good stuff all around.

Sorry if it came off that way - that's the problem with communicating by typing, there's no inflection to text. I could take your remarks on "victory speach" and "the point isn't showing off" as pretty snide, but I'd like to think it was just an appeal for good sportsmanship. No need for a typing war either way.

Japh - I didn't know that was in the rules - can't remember seeing that, but probably should have checked :)

I voted for Pig - while all the entries were fantastic, I loved the idea behind Pig's model.

Special mention to Skrall and Alex - both fantastic models, but I felt the OSL was over-done on Skralls (Personal taste, it's done really well :) ), and while Alex's is a fantastic model, for the MOREDAKKA theme, I just didn't see the Chainaxe wielding berserker mech as very Dakka. If it had been a MOST KILLY theme, Alex would have probably taken the vote for me

And in hind sight there hasn't been anything expressly written about voting for yourself, I just personally don't think its fair to vote for yourself when there are other people who don't vote for themselves. The mods just know it irritates me because I have said as much to them before about contests. I also don't want to start some sort of argument or potentially hurt any feelings over it. To me, it just seems more in keeping with the 'astro spirit' to vote for other people.

But that is just my .02 cents

Its not really in the rules, just a lot of people don't like the idea of voting for themselves.

I thought they were all phenomenal! In the end I voted for Alex, it was just an extremely impressive model and with the size of that cannon you can safely say DAKKA!! Nice job to all entries.
