    Default 40k 25th Anniversary mini

From the French white dwarf, the Warhammer 40k 25th Anniversary mini:

    five things:

    one, its fine cast

two, I think that says 25 euro (33 Dollars)

three, good model based on cool Rouge Trader artwork

    four, it is pretty sweet

    five, its limited edition

EDIT: and number 6 - dude is holding an Ork head in his powerfist!

Slightly bigger pic, making it even more ridiculous at 26 euro

Love the miniature, but at 26 Euro it is akin to highway robbery! Besides we all know where over half of them will end up anyway - Ebay.

Personally much more interested in the LotR news, 5 new supplements and tons of new minis confirmed! Februari is supposed to be a nothing but LotR month with major books for all the factions a new, large, all encompassing rulebook, tons of new plastics and Finecast minis as well.

It gets slightly less bad in the cost department, as it turns out that you do get the display base with flag as well:

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Rogue Trader, which forever changed the face of miniature wargaming, we're immortalizing in Citadel Finecast the very first star of Warhammer 40k.

The evocative illustration from the cover of Rogue Trader leaves no doubt; in the far future there is only war. In the center of the image a Crimson Fist captain holds an Ork's head. Juan Diaz has sculpted a miniature based on this Space Marine captain, brandishing his grisly trophy in his power fist, a plasma pistol in his other hand. The kit includes a display base with the proud Crimson Fist standard in in the background. Alternatively you can use a regular base so that the captain can lead a squad of Crimson Fists into the heart of battle.

The base and the marine for that price is pretty damn good. And it's actually a nice looking model.

Don't get your hopes up on that. If this is a limited edition, chances are, that they will sell for no less than $50 - $100 on ebay, once they're out of stock, and that'll probably be in couple of months. I purchased an Eldar Bonesinger model from back when Codex Eldar was released and today, they're seeling for a lot more on ebay than the original GW price.

However, the good news is, if this is not a direct-only model, that retailers like maelstromgames or waylandgames may sell it for a lower price, as long as stocks last.
