Sorry ive just looked at this again excellent painting but i dont think that his injurys warrent him to be a dreadnought i mean when there inturned they call it the dreamless sleep, like coma. i mean when davian thule was intured he was pronounced dead on the battlefeild and all that was left of him was his torso, head, and his left arm they have very little memory of ther past life.and there understanding appart from battle is very rudamentary and chapters deem it as the ultamate honour. This guy looks as though hes just wearing it for armours sake. im affraid it the only thing that i do not like about it and im no expert on all the fluff

Different authors have given different abilities to dreadnoughts over the years, for instance Bjorn recanted many stories with the Space Wolves after the battle of the Fang. Many of the wolf dreadnoughts remembered things from their past and even communicated with each other while in stasis.

I would say the fluff on what happens to dreadnought while asleep and what they remember when they are awake is pretty diverse
