I say delete as these people don't take the time to read any forum rules before posting their griefs. They don't take time to introduce themselves and so have no regard for us and our rules. These matters definitely don't need to involve an entire community and therefore should not taint our boards.

Again I have no problem with them having said griefs and trying to collect on what is or isn't rightly due them. I do have a problem with them using our forum to complain and slander someone else. Keep it between the people involved.

I am editing to put another question in here. If deleting these posts before they have a chance to sour the boards is "Gastapo" and we should allow them to voice their opinions and grievances, then we should also NOT intentionally ban ANY member for any reason. WHY? Well, at least in the U.S., people are entitled to freedom of speech. This freedom, which is protected by our constitution, has been used to protect all kinds of moronic "speech." I don't condone everything that everyone says but being in the military, I have vowed to give my life defending the rights of Americans to express whatever they want. Yes, including those who badmouth the armed forces.

So, there are rules and I have done everything in my power to abide by those rules. BUT, these people do not! Our MODS will come to a great solution and maybe even amend the rules to reflect this but the people who come to this forum to air these types of problems won't take the time to read these rules and will therefore post anyway. I also don't feel just locking the thread will work as the content will still be there for all to read and sour the boards. We may even lose some members as our boards decline the way others have.

It is a touchy situation and I don't envy the Mods here but I can say that I am sick and tired of reading these types of posts. Those of you who know me from my posts may think this is a little out of character for me as I don't normally get into thse semi-political issues. This time I am fed up and felt I needed to express myself and my opinion as one of the members who loves these forums. Please take this seriously.

I have to agree with Artsoldier, I have seen too many 1 post accounts which seem to be just here to take up something with other people. It seems we are not the only forum to suffer but some of this stuff is spill over from Dakka Dakka. They have banned people in the past for this.

I say we leave it to the mods but sharpen our pitchforks......I know I have mines already sharp or else minion will get the err blunt end. I think we have rules about just posting once or as its called on other forums sock pupperty, lets just wait and let things take their natural course.

Guys, we are only too aware of the bad vibes these topics are spreading around, and we are actively keeping a very close eye on them. To that end though, threads like this one do almost as much damage, even as they try to help raise awareness of the issues. The dirt is settling over the other threads, it doesn't need kicked up again. But unlike the others, where it tends to be random unknowns dropping in and posting/ranting/trolling, this thread is made up of you guys, not random users, but our friends and family, and harder to mediate and moderate, so to speak.

We know these things leave a horrible aftertaste, which is exactly why they shouldn't be revived, least of all through a public announcement. PMing mods or reporting posts is the best way to get something sorted, and as you know the Report Post function comes with a handy little comment box, which is where this type of announcement should be made.
I say again, bringing it up like this simply kicks the dirt up again...

What about having trader feedback topic within the trader subforum? That's how we solved it.

And any time one of these little whiny girls comes along to "give input" on one of our members they'll have to post in that topic. If not have their posts merged or deleted.

The point is, do we want to have people pop in the board, cast all the drama at us and then leave again forever? I'd rather not give such people the pleasure to have their posts "stored" for everyone to see. I think we all can see if someone is trustworthy or not, simply looking at their past bussinesses on the Archive.
I won't have people coming to say I have scammed them in the past, so I'm not talking about me, but I don't think anybody likes to be stigmatised by people that aren't even part of the community.

Of course, that's my opinion.

By the same token, it shows:
1/ Regular members (and Skrall) care about the site and its members.
2/ We are all in agreement that this crap has to stop.
3/ We are prepared to stand beside whatever efforts the mods make to cap things.

I don't think therefore that threads like this are a bad thing.

I had to laugh to think some random thought we'd give him the address of one our most respected, admired and liked members on a single post rant. I understand what JP is going through regarding postage. I still have several models I have been wanting to send for ages to Ossai, Feren and Jap. Don't worry lads,I haven't forgotten. I just haven't had the money. Maybe you guys ought to start a class action against me...

We discussed the trader-feedback idea, and started to Implement something along those lines, but the truth of the matter is that our trading centre simply isn't busy enough to warrant it! At this point in time, its nothing that I cant keep my eye on...

ehm. why's my threads title been changed without any explination? fairly sure if you go around changing threads its worth putting a p.s in your messages. people might get the impression your censoring them.... i didn't see any issues with the threads title. it did its job, it got people to look at this thread and consider what i proposed inside.. it wasn't inflamitory nor did it bate anyone.

not that i'm that fussed, but i would like to be told somewhere if your going around retitling my threads.

It was changed to reflect the fact that we dont want to kick up any more mess or fuss, but we do want to show that we are doing something about the recent threads, that we are "on it" so to speak, but that we dont want any soapbox style speaches regarding the running of Astro, or what is deemed acceptable or not. The forum rules are there, if they are broken by anyone, then the mods step in. If there is cause for concern, then the mods step in.
Also, Skrall, you may have started this thread, but it isn't yours in the same manner as your WIPs. This is a community thread now...

That being said, I do agree with you Skrall, about flame wars being started that have nothing to do with the forum as a whole not needing a place on the forum...
