1000 pt Orcs and Goblins

Alright guys. Here is my first attempt at an 8th ed Army list. Any feedback, positive or negative would be greatly appreciated. I did 1000 point because that is most likely what my first few battles will be at with the crew I will game with has.

Redbeard

Black Orc Big boss – Boar, Armor of Silvered Steel, Ironcurse Icon - 156
Orc Shaman - Channeling staff, Seed of rebirth - 90 points
CORE-
60 Night Goblins - Boss, musician, standard bearer, Spears, Netters - 255 points
20 Orc Boyz – Boss, musician, Standard, additional hand weapon – 175 points
20 night goblins – Boss, musician, standard and shortbows - 90 points
5 Forest Goblin spider riders – 70 points
5 Forest Goblin spider riders – Boss 70 points
SPECIAL
Orc Boar Chariot - Extra crew member – 90 points
Total army value 996 points

I'd drop the boar on the BOBB. Was an effective armour save bonus in past editions, but now he gets no 'lookout sir!' role in any of your units. If he was going solo (dont see why) it'd make sense.

Also your spider rider units are a bit small, any kind of shooting and they'll be running for the hills. I like the big horde anchor though, but you need a good hammer unit. Maybe if you reworked your core and could squeeze in a another chariot or maybe some savage orcs it could be covered. Seriously, this edition has clearly been more focused on the savages (to sell more of the new models?). A horde of them with a shaman w/ shrunken head and they're deadly (even more so if you also have wurrzag in the unit)

I've done some reworking on my lists as I made larger lists and add 10 orc boyz and take away 10 NG spearmen.

Why would he not get the lookout sir? Why is the 2+ to armour save not good? Just getting around to actually reading through everything you said. Personally, I don't much like the savage orcs.

The armour save is good. Im guessing you'd be putting him in the orc boyz unit? He would not gain a Lookout sir roll since he isn't of the same category as the unit. He'd be cavalry, they're infantry.

There we go. Found it in the rulebook. Blast. I love that model. And I do not have another Orc Hero model that is not my standard bearer. Well...looks like I need to find some bitz and make me a warboss on foot.

Bugger. Though orc models aren't the rarest of things, it means you have an opportunity to make something special. May I ask what said model you love is?

My warboss on his boar. Not an especially characterful model, but I was just starting to paint him up. Until I get the money to get my boar boys squad he is going to sit useless...stupid templates.
