    Default Nemesis (Horus Heresy Series)

    Well...

Amazon just emailed me to say that my copy of the latest HH book is on the way.

I'll let you know what I think when I've read it.

I only read 100 pages into it and I can already recommend this book... It's already grabbed me completely.

Looks set to be one of the best of the series so far...

Been reading it for a couple of weeks now and am loving it, barely half way so taking it slow I like that allot of it is from a normal human's (Yosef) perspective it is interesting and his investigation is actually more intriguing for me than what the assassins are going through although that story line is really just warming up we all know how it's going to end truly but it will be interesting to see how it gets there, loving the book one of the best in the Horus Heresy so far sure as sure.

I can also see that the lesser known authors are improving in skill from this series as a whole, that the likes of James Swallow and Mike Lee may even start to rival Graham Mcneill and Dan Abnett in skill and popularity soon.

The Horus Heresy is a huge boon for The Black Library not just in sales but also for the authors themselves this series seems to inspire all of the writers to work harder for their books although there are exceptions (for me Descent of Angels and Battle for the Abyss being the lowest)

    Totally agree there...

I'm still only half-way through Nemesis too... And still loving it...

So what's the setting for Nemesis then?

"Facing the storm, battred and torn, fighting for our Glorious Land! Come take our hand, together we stand defending our Glorious Land!"

Horus and the Emperor unleashing assassins on each other, I think.

Sors salutis/ Et virtutis/ Michi nunc contraria
Est affectus/ Et defectus/ Semper in angaria
Hac in hora/ Sine mora/ Corde pulsum Tangite
Quod per sortem/ Sternit fortem/ Mecum omnes plangite!

Well... More Malcador and Erebus doing the unleashing but yeah...

I've virtually finished it now and I think it's going to go down as one of my favourite HH books (with Fulgrim, Legion and A Thousand Sons).

@Adrassil - Yeah That first twist (if you're referring to the 'identity' of Spear... I assume you are) is a peach... And the plot avoids the obvious all the way after that too... Great stuff!
