Quick update on this months work in progress,

My target for this month is to paint 5 scouts (maybe more), and at least 10 glade guard (my 2 core).

I've started with the scouts and also have a few ideas to use up some of the extra parts on the spures (such as them poking out of piles of leaves) or those drop down trap things like in robin hood! Still trying to figure how the best way to go about it will be, and will need a few practice runs with my clay to get my pile of leaves looking right!

So far i've nearly painted up 3 scouts, I'm testing a idea I had for them (placing some flock on the cloaks, to make it look like the ground they are standing in)

Here is the first two testers, Ive only just glued them so the flock is still wet ect, and they are no where near finished hense WIP *winks*......I'm unsure if I like the flock or not, My aim was a light scattering, but well the one on the left is a bit flock heavy (easy sorted with a light brushing), but he looks better at eye level! Also I spent abit of time on these blending the capes and it seems a waste to cover it!. I think I will glue the other without a flock cape and use that for my final judgement.

The bases will be tidied up so ignore them *grins*
More than happy with anyone to suggest some ideas or methods to get my desired end result!

P.S also know now that I should place the capes on last when gluing!

Do you not find with the WE's that the hooded heads seem to have a ridiculously small neck area to connect to the torso? Whilst building was no bother I was unsure if it was right or even natural looking...

by the way, i have a trading request. Would you have 4 spare glade guard models with hooded heads? I can send you all the "leafy" cloaks from my sprues, any sprites or banners etc you need...

Indeed, even worse is the the neck area on the torso, its far too forward.

As for the trade, sadly you only get 16 models in the pack and I need them all. Though I would have some spare heads if you needed them.

The first installment to this months challenge 5 scouts:

I've done 4 'normal' ones and converted some of the bits to make a 5th, This will allow me to make much more use of the box. To begin with I've tried the emerging form a pile of leafs look, and considering i knocked it up in a few minutes (it was only going to be a 'tester'),I'm pretty happy with it and think I will do a couple of more similar ones. Next up I think I will try the robin hood idea, ive had a look at the bits and think it should be possible with some clay and extra bits.

I could have spent a slightly longer time touching up the paint job on these, but I think they look fine and I'm happy with there look.

I also did a slight conversion on the musician, (cutting and gluing)

Anyhow enjoy and C&C always welcome.

So next up is 10 normal glade guard. I may also do some more scouts and a few additional GG models and time permitting.

I've also been working on a bit of a scenario for myself, Aeth and Tall to play as a one off game using our armies. Hoping to test it out with my greenskins, and Aeth and Tall using other armies, if its fun and good, we can then use our lovely painted Tale of gamers armies (will need around 1k - 1.5k) and I will make it into a battle report for the thread or such?

They're looking sweet, I wasn't to sure about the flock on the cloaks when you mentioned it but you've pulled it off really well. They look good in the last picture, as if emerging from the shadows.

Looking dandy, though I think I need to see the half burried dude in the flesh before I decide on him.

Awesome stuff again :) Maybe use some of the "foliage" bits from the wood elf sprue too, just to make them even more "blended in" with their surroundings.
