(This fight is between me and gingusdan. But feel free to watch.)

Another cheer went up from the stands as another man fell to the ground. It was a bloody sport, the most watched on that world and he was a centre of it all.

He was a gladiator, a high ranking one at that and as he twirled was a grace that bellied his size, swiftly evading and silently taunting his foes, he revelled in the spectators applause. Their bets were on him, their eyes were on him. With a flick of his shield he sent one man went flying and the crowd soared. All of his foes so far had been criminals, weaklings he should not have been so proud to best but he was and as his blade slid through his last opponent, he smiled. Placing a massive boot on the man’s chest, he slowly pushed him over the edge. Gurgles turned to screams as he disappeared into the seemingly bottomless pit that dominated a quarter of the arena.

Vanius looked up from it in time to see the gates a little way behind him begin to groan? Another challenger and so soon? He took a deep breath and prepared to face a new foe.

    ((Taxus Apergia Here))

Taxus wasn't at the gates, he was, in fact, one hundred and something feet in the air, watching the Chaos Marine fight. For a traitor, he was pretty skilled.

"Yes, he is rather good. Yet, Ní féidir leis an dílis a stopadh." Taxus mused aloud as he deactivated his Jump Pack and began hurtling towards the ground.

Ní féidir leis an dílis a stopadh!

The Chaos Marine heard the Marine dropping and looked up. As he did, Taxus activated his Pack again, and spun around, catching the Heretic in the chin. As he stumbled backwards, Taxus landed and pulled his blades out of their scabbards. Forged by him upon his ascension to the Veterans, they had deep meaning to him and he prided himself on their use.

Before he knew what was happening his opponent had fallen from the sky and there was sharp pain in his jaw. Throwing a quick glance to the now closing gates, he felt foolish. While he thought that he was growing stronger, in slaughtering so casually he had allowed his senses to dull, his reactions to slow to the point where one of the emperor’s lapdogs could simply swoop down without him noticing. Disgusted, he fired a few shots into the marine’s jaw. (Petty perhaps but his aim was still strong.) And charged, his gun arm being drawn back so that the strapped on shield could serve if needed, bringing his blade down in a diagonal arc then back across the marines mid section.

Taxus said the pistol being raised and rolled to the left to avoid the rounds. When he pulled himself up, he saw the blade coming for him. He stepped back enough to prevent it being a fatal blow, it instead sliced through the Double Headed Eagle on his chest.

"You'll regret that," Taxus muttered lowly, swinging his blade in a wide arc, aiming for the Heretic's head.

Quickly Vanius raised his shield to block the blow. He smirked and twisting his hand into position, fired a few bullets into the fool’s chest, taking care to aim for the double headed eagle, before delivering a vicious kick to his side.

Taxus felt the blow stop short of his foe's head. Looking, he saw he's raised a shield. Taxus then felt three impacts with his chest and, looking down he saw three black areas on the Aquila.

    You're really asking for it!

Seeing the kick coming, Taxus grabbed it and kicked the other out beneath the Marine. As he fell into the dirt, Taxus pushed his blade into the Marine's Shoulder.

The smirk was wiped of his face as Vanius fell to the ground with white hot pain slicing into his shoulder. It was a much needed wake up call. He raise his arm (and one that wasn’t impaled) and fired at his opponents head. While he was distracted Vanius droped his pistol, took hold of the blade, pulled it from his shoulder, rolled away and got to his feet.

Taxus backed off as the pistol was raised and fired where his head had been moments ago. The Traitor had pulled the blade out of his shoulder and picked himself up.

Sighing, as the Traitor used his own blade, he dropped into a defensive stance. He pained him to see months of toil, soiled through the use of a Traitor. He would pay. For defiling the Aquila, his weapons. He's pay dearly.

The Traitor brought the blade in a over head strike, in an attempt to catch Taxus off guard. Raising his own blade to stop it, Taxus had to shield his eyes from the sparks coming from the two blades. Swinging his fist for the Traitor's head, Taxus barely restrained a cry of pain as his fist, although armoured, connected with the armoured skull of his foe.

As he stumbled, Taxus followed up with a heavy blow with his blades pommel, causing his foe to fall on his back. Grabbing his fallen blade again, Taxus sheathed them and grabbed his enemy.

"Let's see how tough you are falling from one hundred feet in the air, shall we?" Taxus spat, activating his Jump Pack, taking him and his foe into the sky.

He raised his shield to block his opponents attack but wasn’t fast enough. As he stumbled back the he had to fight to keep his balance. The marine reached down to pick up his weapon and sheathed them. That was when Vanius threw a punch at him, pulled his arm back while his opponent tried to react and drove his blade forward into the marine’s chest.

“Where is the emperor now?” He said, grinning.
