Just painting the bits separately. Tallarn has specified the wargear so no need to magnetise, but he will be using his own base for consistency so it makes sense for him to do the final assembly....

@ MMs, thanks! Have no fear, the banner is detachable ;)
Today after an ashamedly long hiatus, I returned to painting with another DC Dread, this time for Tallarn's forthcoming BA force. All the...
I like the new WD. They've certainly invested in it – the issues are bigger, better quality, photography etc. And content-wise it's more in touch with us hobbyists. There's reader's Army of the...
@ WHM, I think a Golden Demon is still a long way off - but thanks!
@ The X, good to have you back! You're right about the back, there are a few bits that could be picked out - I will try to...
Had the dubious pleasure of meeting this thing in the flesh last night, toasted twice it's points cost in Marines!
Excellent paint job, have some rep!
Well... chefs utilise the same method with their knives – so why not?!
Ah happy birthday, I didn't know that cake was for you! With three layers there should be plenty of leftovers for us lot, hmm?
Space Marine Boba Fett? Rep :)
I use Vallejo. The paint itself is very similar to GW - especially the Game Color range. The Model Color range is highly pigmented like the Foundation paints so can be thinned a lot. There's over 250...
I really like them, have some rep!
Cheers chaps! Got another one of these in the pipeline for Tallarns BA ally force. Pics of that in due course, but meantime here's a 5-man Assault Squad. The jump packs are magnetised so I can do the...
This guy's work has been posted here before. He does all sorts of things, Star Wars, Aliens, Terminator etc... There's some cool stuff on his FB page, Predator & Judge Dredd :)...
Well, it worked a treat. Better in fact than if you'd bought the kit.
Necessity is indeed the mother of invention.
That works brilliantly! What were the pillars from originally?
Hoooooooooo boy I hear you regarding Family get-togethers......
Tea? Haha, very effective, I'll have to remember that :)
Agreed. Love the colour scheme!
The Consul looks totally badass! I prefer him with the hammer as his pose suggests he's about to swing it.
The unique shields for the breacher marines is a great idea – customisation / embellishment...
Day of the Tentacle......... man I love that game. I actually got it working (albeit without sound) on my Mac via Dosbox. Mmmmmmm nostalgia........
I agree with CF, the tech marine pose is really cool - when I look at it I can almost imagine the servo bits moving!
But the grunt would look better sans-scope...
CC, CF and I almost went to this but real life got in the way. Despite what I said about the bike and Thallax I do like the Speeder - it fits very well with the jet bikes.
