Where do I begin? Things have been rather chaotic in my life to say the least. Personal relationships, changes at work and a general malaise caused by 100+ degree temperatures have put my 40k adventures on the side lines for a short time.
However, with August in full swing and the coolness of September around the corner I find myself overloaded with a rather lengthy "honey-do" list. The joys of being married, am I right? Well, I started looking this list over and was rather shocked at what I saw. 1) Fix the bathroom window. 2) Fix the gutter on the side of the house. 3) Replace the pantry door. 4) BUILD A NEW GAME BOARD!
Indeed gentlemen, my lovely bride overheard me complaining to a friend about my game board and she is INSISTING that I build a new one. I think it is to keep me out of her hair more than anything. But still, I'll take what I can get. Now, the question becomes, what should I build?
I know from past experience that I want to use MDF instead of plywood. I really should make it 4' x 6' instead of 4' x 8' and this time around I will not include any static features like the river in my current board. Yes it came out awesome, but the placement and flow of the river give certain table sides a distinct advantage, especially when you have amphibious transports.
So, I shall keep you all apprised of my thinking and hopefully within the next few months you shall see the creation of a new gaming table.
