Finally, my stuff has arrived. What do you get if you combine an Orc Raider, 5 Gnarly Cave Squigs, a Deff Kopta and A Trukk?

Step 1: Cut the torch off (ouch, a special order defiled in the first stage!) and place wire for the whip.

You need nine squigs for a sleigh :p . But seriously, I can't wait to see how this turns out. Heck, you could even try using it in a game as a Warbike. But quickly, where's the 'elf' who rides with Santork Klaws? It wouldn't be proper without one :D .

Nomad

Ahh, taken care of IFD. The trukk driver, who I always thought was more Gretchin than Ork, will be acting as the "elf" for the purposes of the project. As to the other 4 squigs, well I do have 3 others but I prefer to think of it like this; the 5 that are here ate the remainder because they was da weak ones!

Cool idea, but what about basing? Seems a bit big to me, but, I shall wait until I see it!

*Hides jealousy*

Nomad

I was thinking a flying stand. Or maybe no base, like the trukk or land raider etc.

Oh, that would be completely fantastic! Kudos! Really can't wait to see it now! Argh, and here I was thinking I was kickin it fresh!

Just wish I was as good at GS as you, the hat's gonna be a bugger.

Santa hat? Easy peasy!

1. Do a cone. Stick it on the head, bend it back. Allow to set.
2. Do a thin strip of GS, wrap around base of hat, stick with needle/pin to do fur effect.
3. Stick small ball of GS to end of hat. Needle/pin to do fur effect.

GS is easy if you break everything down into simple shapes first. Figure out what shapes you'll need, then stick them together and then use a tool to blend them together.

Avoiding fingerprints is my drama...

Yeah, that is a problem. Just keep running over it over and over again with wet fingernails.

thanks E

Sleigh isn't built yet so they'll be connected when the sleigh is built.

Don't worry about rep until it's finished, then see what you think.

A week or so, I have to get back to finishing painting my Ork army for a tourney at the end of January. I still have about 20 boys, a Deff Dread, a Kan, a mob of 5 Burna Boys, a Battlewagon, a trukk, a Big Mek with SAG and 6 objectives to build/paint between now and then to build the army I want to. So I won't be able to spend as long as I really would like to.

I hope it works like I hope it will. I have some plans in mind for how I want it to go. But alot depends on whether my base is too large for the rules, It is slightly larger than the Termie base, between it and the big base. But I'll post some pics when the rough is done and we'll see how it goes. Then you'll see how it all hangs together.

Good luck with the orks, know anybody you can rope in to help if you need it?

Cheers all.

The sleigh is about done, a coat of paint is all. Then for the real challenge. Putting it all together.

It's been a heap of fun doing this, thanks for all the positive feedback. Any suggestions on how to improve things will be gratefully accepted.

So what are the rules?

1. A single GW mini of any range may be entered into the competition, with no more then 2 entries allowed per member.

2. This mini must be on a single base, up to the size of a terminator base, WHFB monster base or a single BFG ship base. I'm hoping for some Epic robot santa action here

3. This does mean that nothing bigger than a biker base can be used. We’re really looking for a Christmas-themed character or Specialist Games vehicle.

4. Entries will be judged on 3 fields by several secret judges: painting, modelling and originality of the conversion. You can score a grand total of 10 points per category. Once the competition ends our independant judges will cast their judgement on each entry. Once their votes are in the top 2 entries will be declared the winners. Should we get more than 10 entries, I'll be putting up some extra stuff so the tope 3 will get prizes!

5. All entries must be posted up at the latest on the 3rd of januari, this should give everybody plenty of time to recover from their eggnog-enduced comas.

I may be unable to complete this project as intended for the competition due to rules 1 & 2.

1: I was intending on using several models, not a single one, although combined into a single model.

2: Size is a consideration. My finished sleigh, with ReinSquigs will be quite large. Although I can place it on an appropriate base, it will still be bigger than the obviously intended restriction.

So, I may have to enter a truncated version of the model, with the finished model just being a project piece.

You should be ok, just look at skarfangs entry for the last comp.

It may be worth checking with Heph directly though.
