this is some space marine fluff that i did last year fro my mate:
The Emperor\'s Blade\'s
The Emperor\'s Blades are an unknown founding of the Dark Angel\'s; all records of them having been expunged from the Liber Astartes. They are a crusading Chapter, meaning they travel the galaxy helping any beleagured Imperials they come across. They are based on the world of Moran Alpha 7, an Agri-world plagued by strange creatures who stalk the populace from secret catacombs, taking women and children back to their hiding places. For this reason, the people of Moran are especially hardy and tenacious, and are taught to fight from an early age. Every year, the Emperor\'s Blades come down from their fleet via teleportation beacons set by the villagers( which they believe to be a form of worship to the emperor) and select the strongest citizen\'s to join the battle brothers. But first they must pass a test. They must go into the catacombs and kill one of the creatures, bring it back up and wear it\'s skin. The skin of a Morlock,as they are called, is the heaviest material that can be found on Moran and so this is a great trial for any Morannian. Once this test is complete, the remaining candidates must duel to the death in an arena. The candidates are stripped down to a loin cloth and are given a great knife, a weapon unique to Moran. Once the duels are over there will only be two victors. These are then taken up to the fleet and taught what the Galaxy is like, they are taught about the greatness of the emperor and the history of the chapter and the Dark Angels: including the story of the DETAILS EXPUNGED.ORDER: UNKNOWN 0.982.674.
The Emperor\'s Blades are an almost unknown chapter. They generally use surprise attacks to cripple the enemy\'s resources, then destroy them with a mixture of long range/aerial bombardment and lightning fast attacks with mounted troops and assault squads. They make extensive use of whirlwinds and razorbacks. They are also the only chapter of the Adeptus Astartes to work in concert with their homeworld\'s Imperial Guard regiments. This is because The Emperor\'s Blades need them for their long range firepower and heavy weapons.
Organisation
The Emperor\'s Blades are split into 10 crusades numbering up to 150 brothers each. This means that The Emperor\'s Blades are slightly larger than the other chapters, though Inquisitorial intrusion has so far been avoided, probably due to their distance from any outposts. The Emperor\'s Blades homeworld is located in the farthest reaches of the Segmentum Obscurus near to the Iron Warrior\'s factory world, Medrenngard, and also to the Ruins of Caliban which many go to for a pilgrimage.
The 13th Black Crusade
When the 13th Black Crusade broke out The Emperor\'s Blades went straight to Medrenngard to prevent the Iron Warriors from playing a large role in the Eye Of Terror. A fierce battle ensued when The Emperor\'s Blades smashed their way to the main fortress of Peturabo, Daemon Primarch of the Iron Warriors. Huge lumbering Titans and the enormous cannons of the Capitol Imperialis bombarded the city from afar while the regiments of the Moran expeditionary forces built vast trenches stretching as far as the eye could see. The battle was fought for weeks with no side conceding. Small strike forces of The Emperor\'s Blades were set up to destroy ammunition dumps and food storage but with the sheer number of factories on the planet it was nigh on impossible to destroy enough. Two companies of The Emperor\'s Blades stormed the Iron Warrior\'s main manufactorum deep within the blasted hives of Medrenngard. After a day\'s fighting, the charges were placed and the Iron Warrior\'s closest and best supply of food and ammo was gone. Just as all seem lost however , the Night Lords began hit and run attacks on the orbital fleet as the Night Lord\'s were escaping from a previous engagement and heading for the Iron Warrior\'s world for resupplying. With the Emperor\'s Blades\' supplies crippled it was only a matter of time until they had to retreat. Their last stand was fought deep within Peturabo\'s inner sanctum, the 1st company were stranded in the centre of the Primarch\'s fortress with all manner of foul mutants, traitors and daemons besieging them from all sides. They fought as hard as they could but no army could stop the endless tide of filth seeping from the all over the planet. Just as the company were down to no larger than a tactical squad in size, help arrived in the form of the Howling Griffons, whose bitter hatred for the Night Lords persuaded them to persue the Traitor legion to Medrenngard. The Night Lord\'s were quickly destroyed and the shipping of supplies to the frontline continued full pace. With the invasion now back in full flow, the combined efforts of The Emperor\'s Blades and the Howling Griffons chapters were able to scatter the Iron Warriors, who fled along with the Night Lord\'s the Eye Of Terror to lick their wounds. Peturabo was not finished however, and would not allow the lapdogs of the False Emperor to escape. He swooped down from his perch on huge archaic jet packs, huge cannons blasting gaping holes in vehices and pocketing the ground in craters. The Daemon cut a swathe of destruction through the loyalist\'s lines;none could stand in his path. Only through the sacrifice of the Chapter\'s most powerful psyker could the Primarch be banished to the warp. After this terrible conflict, the Loyalists were able to continue on their mission to aid the beleagured Cadians................
