I am woundering if any one has herd of a good way of internaly lighting the modle with LEDs I am trying to figure out if any one knows things that won\'t work. I know that people have done smaler modles with single LEDs but the goal is to do all the green rods light

In a quite old white dwarf, a guy hollowed out a balrog and inserted a lamp in there! it looked awesome, althought that\'ll probably be a bit tricky....

looking at doing somthing bigger, i did see that white dwarf and know what your talking about. There was also one with lighted marrines but agine this is bigger. so any help would be appreated

Blimey, i don\'t see how you can get much bigger than that! Unfortunately, I don\'t know the \"schematics\" of a monolith, so wouldn\'t know where everything should go!
Perhaps somehow hollow out the rods, and in each one place a tiny little LED!

i would say this is very possible for a monolith as it has a lot of empty space in the middle, perfect for all the electronics! although i do not know how to do this myself, i would like to see it when its done!

You would defenintley be able to do it, the model is big enoguh and come to think of it i think i have seen this sone before, i will have a look around to see if ican find any more useful info but until the mgood luck.

any information is useful, i know that monolith is a large modle with lots of open space. When i get it done, if i should say, ill post some pics

this has nothing to do with lighting the monolith but i just saw this and thought, if you can do this with a monolith, then anything is possible! http://www.astronomican.com/components/com_joomlaboard/uploaded/images/alexmonolith.jpg

You should check the Lego EXO Force Models, they have a piece of Fiber optic that gets iluminated by a little Flashlight (powered by watch battery) At night it looks like they are firing blue red, purple laser beams! I give you the model numbers that I have 7701 and 7700. Check them on this website http://www.lego.com/eng/default.aspx
Hope it helps with your project! :)

so if any one else uses it let me know would love to see some pics, and when i get my monolith done ill post some

so, i figured that since i wasn\'t geting any wear on lighting my monolyth i would go a head and build it, and then start a new one and light it up. how ever it is starting to look good
