The cabal that is Kharn the ..., Killer Toaster and myself try to create silly marine names.
We've come up with a few,
SPURTICUS, GONADIUS, SCROTIUS, TESTICLÉS bit of a theme there!
and were wondering if the Astros could increase the panthion of silliness.

I have a marine captain called Fabius Scrotious.
Also a vindicare assassin called Lee Harvey Oswald on account of the fact that he never hits anything.
But we really can't use them in our local Games Worshop, family shop and all that.....

Point is, 90% of the kids who play there don't know who Mr. Oswald was/is and even if they do, its not like you scream his name across the shop right?
Here's a good name I came up with for a tough Space Marine Sergeant:
GLUTEUS MAXIMUS
go google if you don't get it ;)
Cheers,

Yes silver I agree that most kids don't know who he is. However I don't play kids, for reasons that are my own.
However I named him for me not anyone else, it seemed apt. It adds flavour and ownership to my army.
His name is on his base as are all my named models. So some people notice and ask why. I answer its because he never hits anything.
Yes I have a sergeant named Glutinus Maximus Custardious also a guard officer named Major Pectorials....
I really like the smurf names by the way.

The names need to be cheeky as well, on the lines of Life of Brian Romans; Silver's GLUTEUS MAXIMUS means buttocks.
A new one came to me on the bus yesterday GUSSITAS.
Kharn and myself have interchangable humorousish names for daemon princes, deamons and large nidy things: TOPHEEBOLLOX, GRUNTFUTTOK, GROINRIPPER.
The previous names are maybe more suited to Chaos Chapters, you could see a Slannesh marine called SPURTICUS or even a Death Guard.

How about Androdinus?
Fedicus
04-07-2008, 01:55 PM
I don't get it "Androdinus" cant see any humour!
Nearly forgot, Kharn and myself came up with a groovy name for his Inquisitor: PERVACIOUS SHOOF-PAGGER.
if you get spoonerisms you might enjoy that.

Personally, I think Androdinus is far, far funnier than the 'hilarious' Biggus Dickus...
My expression of humour on the latter was sarcasm. Just in case.

To those who don't see Androdinus - Androdygnous (spelling?) being both male and female. Perfectly suited to Slaaneshi marines. Anyway, thats what I think it is, and thats why its funny. Biggus Dickus was funny in Life of Brian, but thats because Monty Python rock hard.

I guess what I meant by Androdygnous is that Space Maries are usally very broing dul; creatures who have no real personality or life lol
Fedicus

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ho ho ho………now I get it, oh how droll thou art an unparalleled shining wit!
Spelling is an essential, I take it you meant Androgynous.
Androgynous – neither male or female, Latinised form of androgunos from the Greek, andro – man , gune – woman
Still not funny!
How about Telepathetic – distantly feeble.
p.s. I really enjoy euphemisms and spoonerisms.

I always think when i see space marines fighting like what about the ppl without big strange names. Like What happened to Brother Steve and Brother Chuck? Just imagine on a blood stain battlefield someone yelling
"Brohter Stever has been hit. Not Brother Steve! Nooooooooooooooo!"

I have a guardsman with a meltagun and 'toasty bob' written on the base.
Last turn in a pre-qual for a GT back in 3rd edition the VP's were tied and a lone wolf lord in terminator armour was 18 inches from a chimera with embarked squad. Drove up and disembarked after moving 12, so the squad had to take a dangerous terrain test, most of the squad died falling out the back, toasty bob hit the lord and dropped him, won the game and the tourney.
He's the only named guy in the army...

I haven't named anything besides my Leman Russ, Conan. However I always put stupid names on those slips you fill out at stores for donating to charity. Harold Balsagna, Michael C. Rotch, Handel Meinsack, Richard Dangler... If you don't get a couple of those just use the informal form of the first name (Harry, Mike, Dick etc). Simple changes keep people from recognizing it right away.
