After reading the fluff and printing and reading the rules, I think I should start a fleet of BFG, chaos to be precise. I know nothing about the tactics and I bet if I were to face even a novice he/she would still smeer the void with my butt!

So I have a couple of questions.
-How big are the ships exactly? Because I see a price tag of $16 Canadian for a battleship so I guessing they are bigger than I thought.
-Would a fleet with a single battleship and nothing else but escorts be viable?
-How many points is an average game.
-Are fightercraft the most insane thing in the game(They sound cool)
-Compared to 40K how complicated do you find it.

Well thanks for hearing me out, I hope to know more about this cool game. Thanks:)

Can't tell you about the other questions as I don't play, but ships range from around an inch to about 3 inches long. There's room to paint them at least :P

Chaos... Repulsive Grand Cruiser FTW! That thing has insane broadside batteries!

Anyhow, as for your questions!

- a fleet with one battleship isn't viable. You need these cruisers to soak up heavy fire and answer with their own batteries. Besides, Cruisers are just so much cooler.

- Fighers aren't that tough. Bombers can score the occasional deathblow, and are good at taking escorts down. Thunderhawks are insane. The main thing is to keep them organized in waves! They're then vulnerable to Cruiser fire, but will suffer much less when attacking their target.

I say, nothing replaces the good ol' broadside battery.

- It's less complicated. However you NEED a printed copy of the gunnery table, and of the damage charts.

With the fluff behind my Pyre in all, I was thinking of using the space marine rules in BFG but it's really chaos, or should I just stick with chaos because they are awesome!

Printed it too Indra;) Oh boy, Myco and I are splitting the starter set so each get 4 cruisers. I'm giddy with excitement! Your going down you imperial dog, Myco!

PS: Does anyone know if the starter set comes with 4 identical cruisers for each side of the same class or can you choose which cruisers they will be?

You can assemble the cruisers to fit the class you want. I'd recommend taking magnets to them so you chan change the plates on them.

Commodore? Where do you live? If it's not too far away I might be interested in learning to play?
