right i need a bit of help with a lordsoftherings list, its for elves and i just want to know how much is legal.

p.s. i will split the squads down later.

33 high elves
heavy armour and bows

21 high elves
heavy armour and elven blade

8 wood elves
elven blade and throwing weapons

7 wood elves
wood elf spear

7 wood elves
bow and elf blade

high elve captain
heavy armour and shield

for heroes i was thinking of:
elladan and elrohir + galadriel, lady of the galadhrim + glorfindel and legolas.

is this legal, how many points is a high elve with heavy armour and elven blade?
if there is any points left how many high elves with heavy armour and shields and spears i could get.
how many points is an elven cloak and who can take it?
are all the heroes legal with this list, is this list legal?

thanks,
knight of ne

p.s. if you where wondering, i was cooling off for a while, thats why i didnt come online.

A High Elf with heavy armour and elven blade is 10pst, with heavy armour, shield and spear is 11 pst.

Elven cloack are 5 pst for wood elf warriors, 10 for wood elf captains and 20 pst. for elladan and elrogir (for 2 cloaks). I know Legolas may have one aswell for 10 pst.

About the bows, only 1/3 of your army may have bows (throwingweapons don\'t count here) and right now you have 33 of 82, so you\"ll need to drop 5-6. Depending on wether you want to round up or down from 27,33.

EDIT; miscalculated, these should be correct

On to points;
27 high elves
heavy armour and bows 297 pst.

21 high elves
heavy armour and elven blade 210 pst.

8 wood elves
elven blade and throwing weapons 80 pst.

7 wood elves
wood elf spear 56 pst.

7 wood elves
bow and elf blade 70 pst.

high elven captain
heavy armour and shield 80 pst.

elladan and elrohir 140 pst.
+ options
- elven cloaks 20 pst. for both
- horses 20 pst. for both
- elven bow 10 pst. for both
- heavy armour 10 pst. for both
(HA? new ruin of arnor models I\'m guessing)

Galadriel, lady of the galadhrim 125 pst

Glorfindel, lord of the west ? 140 pst

Legolas 70 pst.
+ optional elven cloak 10 pst.

Total right now, without any extra options for heroes = 1268 pst.

Hope this helps!

At 1488 pst. this seems be a pretty solid list, although expensive at 35 pst. you might want to think about adding a banner to your high elves.

They\'ll be in the thick of it most of the time and their higher fight value will help alott. If you combine this with your spearman and a banner surrounding glorfindel you get a shieldwall that can re-roll dice and has a terror causing hero.
This should prove especially usefull against armies that outnumber you, which is likely to happend often which expensive infantry and heroes.

If you ever get around to it, I\'d love to see some pictures of this force.

I like the look of the revised list Ne and I agree with Hephesto on the banner, it\'ll be invaluable if you\'re facing lots of Orcs or Goblins.

Oh and just out of interest do you stick to the vanilla painting scheme?

in that case how about removing the 2nd captain with a bow and replacing him with a banner and a few more elves with spears and shields.
i might not use the vanilla scheme, it just depends on what i like at the time. (theres something so appealing about silver though)

was it 35pts for a model with a banner or just adding a banner to a model?

Hmmm... removing the 2nd captain will lose you some strength, but then again if you do you can get a banner and a few more elve... and numbers are good so... I say go for it!

Even with the 2nd captain removed elves are still pretty strong so you won\'t have lost out on much except for the might, will and fate points.

And I know what you mean about what you feel like about the paint scheme I can\'t settle on anything for my Easterlings at all. The vanilla schem\'s appealing but so are the otherson the GW site.

Could be me, but isn\'t a standardbearer 44 pst?
Elven warrior (7) + heavy armour (2) + banner (35)

EDIT; just looked it up in the rulebook (curse my neurotic personality) and it says that models at the additional costs given in their lists can take standard.

The standard is 35 points, the elf 7 points and the heavy armour 2 points so in total it is 44 points :)

Now all you have to do is take over Mordor and destroy Isengard and you\'ll be flying!
