With the rise of 6th we're looking at the time of flyers! Angels of death stride the skies, pushing all below with firey death. Monsters fly through the skies, crashing into their foes with terrible force. Indeed it is a time to look to the skies, and pray the shadows are but a wisp of cloud....

1; Entries must be a flyer or flying monsterous creature (nearly every codex has something in one of these categories)
2; Entries must be complete by the end of august.
3; All entries must be fully painted and based.
4; Unprimed or primed photos are required for all enteries, WIP welcome, but not mandatory.
5; In the event of a tie the decision shall fall to the mods, who will judge it based upon;
- Quality of the paint job
- Theme/basing used
- any conversions or modifications made

Voting shall take place a few days after the competition closes. The winner will receive a set of Astronomican Dice, courtesy of Tallarn!

I have a pretty good idea how I'm going to convert the Stormtalon, but I need to know what I'm allowed to arm it with, and where on the model I should place the weapons. Thanks.

It comes armed with twin-linked shuriken catapults and one of the following; Eldar missile launcher, scatter laser, starcannon, shuriken cannon or bright lance.

Personally, I'd do it as a nightwing. Use the rules for the razor wing, but use shuriken cannon instead of splinter cannon, and use bright lances instead of dark lances. Then wait for the new eldar codex to come out when it will have rules for nightwings.

Interesting.....been dabbling with some colourschemes for my Astral Claw meatshields, uhm support troops, and still have an Arvus Lighter that will join them. Not sure if that thing still counts as a flyer though, I'll check tonight :grin:

it does, at least when i looked at some of the apoc books yesterday. It's still a planetypeflyignthing regardless, if i've allowed JP to do this with a fantasy monster i'm pretty sure your safe with a transport birdy.

So it looks like i'm the first to post, i've got my vendetta build and basecoated, so here's the WIP shot for that. Next up i'm going to start work on the base and hiding the cables then start the painting. Can't wait to start painting it though...

So, I have to finish a bunch of models for an upcoming 2v2 game with some friends. I don't think I'll have time to do a Stormtalon. However, I'm wondering if I could enter a conversion that I'm working on. It's a Long Fang with a missile launcher who is performing a rocket jump. He's not a flyer, but he is airborne! And with the explosion below him, he'll be flying on wings of fire!

What do you guys think? I may enter him for fun, regardless of if it will be a legal entry or not.

Not a problem at all mate - if it gives more people time to enter, that's great - I was looking forward to seeing what folks here would do with all the new shiny flyer kits. Only reason I'm entering is to give myself a deadline to finish something. Maybe also to inspire other conversions/scratchbuilds...

It's actually three, because of all the things going on on my end (sickness, excessive work, ect) i haven't had time to give a conformation.

The Final deadline is Friday 22nd at 22:00 GMT.

It's good to see people are entering though, hopefully we'll have a lot more now!
