After all of my fleshing out of Chaplain Orthox in the arena, I have decided that he would have a bolt pistol, crozius, and jump pack. But also, I was wondering, would there be any *inexpensive* way to model wings upon his back? Any help is much appreciated...

wood elf warhawk wings cost a fiver and look good in swooping positions, the brettonian pegasus knight wings cost the same amount, are plastic and are a bit bigger.

i thought the pegasus wings where metal to. (you dont want to big a wings)

it depends if you want natural looking angel like wings or slightly less natural, but smaller wings.

I think we have a winner! The pegasus wings may be huge, but I think that just adds to the imposing and angelic stature I am trying to aquire. Oh and just a question... if my guy has huge wings would I still have to put a jump pack on his back to be rules legal?

Ocelot

No, you would say that the wings count as a jump pack. But in a tournament setting, always ask if it is ok.

Look forward to seeing it.

i would say yes because people give there models wings but dont give them jump packs in there lists so that means it doesnt count as jump infantry (tourney rules)
but if it where me v u i wouldnt care!

I guess I am looking to give this guy kind of a primarchish (hey I made a new word!) stature, any one know how I could improve this look?

Knight of ne

make the model slightly taller!

Scolar

You should True-Scale him, meaning make him like 5mm+ taller than he already is.

Knight of ne
18-11-2006, 07:28 PM
i would also make his armour look slightly older as if it was an earlier mark!

Chaplain Orthox

how do I make a chaplain taller? add like different legs? I was thinking I would give him a flying base... any ideas?

Knight of ne

i would add a bit of greenstuff to his feet and then put him on an elevated surface to make him taller (most peple use a piece of slate)

putting a few pieces of plastic card and GS into some of the joints, especially the waist and extending the legs can make a model a bit bigger. You can make a couple of little changes like that then put him on a taller base (on a rock or something) to get a good \"I\'m bigger than you are effect\"

Knight of ne
18-11-2006, 07:33 PM
it creates an overal look im several feet biggger than you look!

Chaplain Orthox
18-11-2006, 07:33 PM
Yay! Im getting sooo exited about this... I\'m gonna make him look like a god!:woohoo:

Knight of ne
18-11-2006, 07:35 PM
in that case put a halo round hs head and write gods arrived on his base!

Chaplain Orthox

Chaplain Orthox

where would i get the halo by the way? I can\'t think of any miniature that has a halo in the SM range... maybe a witch hunter?

Knight of ne

Knight of ne

Guys can we keep the double posting to a minimum please. Use the edit button.

The pointed Ork shoulder pad is useful for a halo.

Knight of ne
18-11-2006, 07:46 PM
is it an old metal commander you have!
soz!

Ocelot, sorry about the double posting, I will just edit from now on.

Knights of ne, it is the new boxed set, the plastic one, but I don\'t see any halo\'s, are you talking about the spiky metal thing on his backpack in the picture? \'Cuz if that is a Iron Halo, then I want something that actually goes around his head, more of an angelic kind of thing:lol:

Knight of ne

thats the halo but if you want a proper halo i dont have a clue!

Chaplain Orthox
18-11-2006, 07:55 PM

yeah, it\'s not exactly a \'proper\' halo, but it\'s the best I can find!

Knight of ne
18-11-2006, 08:00 PM
oh well, shame but at least that halo is big!

Ocelot
18-11-2006, 08:01 PM
When you get your halo, use a small length of wire behind the head to hold it up above his head. Should look good if done correctly.

Chaplain Orthox

yeah, that sounds pretty cool! thanks for the great idea!

the halo that comes in the commander box is best sized

celestines is very large...seen here:

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y218/Starks3333/Crimson%20Fists/HPIM0947.jpg

i cut it off and then cut a groove into a backpaco to place it, then filled the area with GS to complete(more or less) the circle

rather then trying to buy one make a halo use a peace of doule rod the right size. Or check for a nativity scene at the local craft store with a halo the right size and cut the halo off a poor defeceless angle.

well... I am trying to make it kinda spiky, kinda since he is the angel of death... He isn\'t exactly supposed to look like a princess, he is supposed to look like a skeleton in power armor, because that is what he is...

Knight of ne
21-11-2006, 07:18 AM
i like the idea of a skeleton in power armour!
