Metaphysics of 40K Gods and Daemons
Dark thoughts for a dark future; as I’ve a lot of free time I think about things like this, so now you can too.
As promulgated through various tracts regarding psycana in the 40K Universe it can be understood that every life creates an analogue in the warp labelled as souls.
These analogues are representative of the stronger emotions and have over millennia merged to form various sentient entities. These entities are commonly known as the chaos gods and their daemons.
NECRONTYR
The Necrontyr as Necrons were called when they were corporeal beings over sixty four million years before the existence of any of the current races that now inhabit the galaxy of The Imperium of Man; whose unstable star drove their scientific abilities and technology to combat the corruption caused to their bodies.
After development of living metal for their space ships then discovering the star-gods or C’tan which led subsequently to immortality by becoming a Necron, their souls; vengeful, hateful, diseased souls were released into the ether en masse, as their memories were downloaded into metal bodies. Check their Codices for the gory details.
So could the billions of souls that once were of the Necrontyr be the genesis of Khorne and Nurgle?
TYRANIDS
Again, living beings emotions produce an echo in the warp (see above); the Tyranid Hive Fleet has supposedly travelled the unimaginably huge distances between galaxies to feed on ours. They munched their way through the Squats: gristly and hairy wee things that they were, so they must have been extraordinarily hungry!
Could the beings, whatever they were that previously existed in the galaxy that the Tyranids travelled from have had their own versions of warp entities and if so what if they followed the flesh of the hive-fleet on their trans-galactic journey looking for fresh flesh themselves?
A possible whole new pantheon of gods and daemons duelling it out in the warp?
I feel better for getting that off my mind, how about you?
I’ll just away and have a nice soothing cup of tea and a lie down in a dark sanatorium.
