I like how you have two lamps, one at each end of the table

Oh yeah, I'm organized(ish).

Mine currently has on it - about 50 marauders, in various states of existance, an imperial guard command hq squad, nearly done... a plate, an empty coleslaw tbp, a lamp, two empty cans of something, various empty beer cans, a bottle of shower gel, a hat, my alarm clock, three socks, and the taken-apart gearbox from my airsoft rifle.

As you can tell, it is assignment time here at university, and I haven't had much painting time really...

Well, here is my desk (Wireless keyboard makes painting much easier):

you are such a Scot/uni student... plenty of empty pint glasses (nicked from pubs I hope), empty bottle, mess...
I had a pic of mine in my WIP a while back, aint changed much, except it has encroached upon the living room proper now...

My god. You guys are SOOOOOOOOO neat and tidy.

My work station is so cluttered I usually sit on my bed to paint. I don't think anything else will actually fit on my desks. Between Warhammer, 40K, Warmachordes and random stuff, I have more figures than surfaces...

The Baileys glasses and the tankards were not. Should see my bedside table, I have a collection of around 8 magners bottles.

Hmmm, lets just say i am forced to do all my painting on my bed because all 3 tables(of varying sizes) are covered in a load of ''stuff''

I paint in my study, which is also where I work all day so I tend to keep the whole area as clear as possible, apart from the few miniatures I am working on.

I won't bother with a picture as its just a large wooden desk with a laptop, second computer screen, printer, in out trays and five celtic horsemen on!

My old workspace however, that was a thing of beauty (ish)

Yeah they make me happy :) - these pics are also a few years old I have 2 more demons, a Forgeworld Best Of Show and a few other pieces/awards in there now. I may need to pick up a fourth Cabinet if I win anything this summer.

Is that a model of Kaneda's motorbike from Akira I spy there tkkultist? And Ash from Evil Dead :)
And is that a Dentist's lamp Commissar_Cain?!

I have two hobby areas but they are also both for other purposes so all my stuff has to be packed away again at the end of a session. One is at my desk where, like hwd, I work during the day. Then there's a 100 year old Chinese cabinet in my bedroom where I sometimes paint because the light is better. I have to take the bed linen out of it and remove the middle shelf so I can open the doors and sit in front of it on a stool with my knees inside – bit of a rigmarole

Might take some pics tomorrow...

As for my lamp, its not a dentists lamp. Its a Magnifier Lamp with armature. Its about $30 bucks at Michaels or any craft store. If your having trouble finding good lighting and really wanna get down and dirty with the details, I highly recommend picking one up. It even has a handy D clamp for setting up anywhere.

Cheers for the tip, I do indeed have a lighting problem so will look into it!

Meantime took some pics of my hobby areas today, which in a flat as small as mine cannot be entirely dedicated...
