View Full Version : Aun I have a challenge for you!

11-10-2006, 05:01 AM
Basically what it says in the title. Aun I challenge you to make a kroot fit into your Satr Wars H\'th sept! Only snag is.... it has to look like a wookie! If you accept then I\'ll give it a go to!

I saw this done on a LOTR spider: Coat the hairy bits with static grass then paint appropriatly.

Hairy Kroot would be truely bizarre but would fit the whole H\'oth frozen wasteland theme better than bare naked zeno dudes.

Wouldn\'t static grass look a bit weird. your best bet is to use greenstuff. It\'ll be a cool model.

I recognise the top ones, its a guy called Major Hawkins, saw his work on Hammer of War!

I do like those pathfiders and fire warriors as well!

There is some really cool stuff out there.

btw I think this post will need fixing, those links are skewing the page! are you able to change them to images?

15-10-2006, 09:10 PM
You should do a unit of Kroot all done up to look
like wookie warriors. Would be awsome!

15-10-2006, 09:21 PM
well that didn\'t go as planned, here goes again;

Superb conversion from someone else, FANTASTIC work

I do love that Fett stormtrooper sergeant. I\'m going to do a fett battle suit at some point but not yet, possibly with one of the suits I have on the paint desk!

15-10-2006, 10:46 PM
Man those are some awsome conversions! Good job so far on the wookie aun!

16-10-2006, 03:07 AM
Crap! Just as you accept the challenge I run out of Kroot! I won\'t be getting another squad of them till Christmas now. Curse me!

I converted my last kroot into a tech-Kroot. I\'ll post up some pics soon so you can all laugh at me:(

Sorry Aun...

well, this one is much more done now, but got a bit side-tracked into my battlesuits article, will probably be running both of these projects side by side for a while, but will probably start painting on chewie tomorrow.

16-10-2006, 05:18 AM
double points if you give it a bowcaster:)

Jesus Christ! That\'s brilliant! I might as well back out before I get any more kroot:S But that would be too easy wouldn\'t it?

I like what you\'ve done to the rifle and how you made the hair.

Damn I regret challenging you...

27-10-2006, 03:33 AM
Woahhhh nice Mohawke! Also good job on the bowcaster!

I\'m just trying to sort out his accessories. I think he\'s just about ready to be finished!

although the picture doesn\'t look as good as the actual paint job the bit I\'m least impressed with is the texturing on his mohawk!

27-10-2006, 04:12 AM
The Kroot have grenades that look like thermal detonators. use those :side:

already stuck to him, around his bandoleer, along with the little bit of extra ammo, that looks slightly like the pouches on Chewie\'s bandoleer.

I\'ve lost before I\'ve even began...

right he\'s pretty much done now, I think I\'ve done my usual trick and not done a pretty good conversion proud with some mediocre painting, he did need a complete shoulder reconstruction, which was quite upsetting!

so here he is just needing a base now!

distressingly a lot of the detail appears to have been lost during photographing, but should we ever meet up for an astro tournament you\'ll be able to see him there!

Aun that is pretty good!

30-10-2006, 03:09 AM
 Feeling worse than ever about this now...

30-10-2006, 03:26 AM
Nicely done Aun. Nice strap you made over his shoulder, I hate doing things like that.

30-11-2006, 07:17 PM
Ok Aun wins by default! It\'s been about a month since I posted the challenge and so far I havn\'t got a single thing done seeing as I have no Kroot!(no money to buy any either)

But if I do find one I\'ll make it so it wasn\'t a waste of time for you Aun.
