It's not really a miniature (being life-sized and all) but it's somewhat inspired by the repeater handguns of Empire Engineers, somewhat by Warmachine firearms. I used the biggest cap gun I could find, added plastic tubes, bits of metal, an extra bit of a bastion, some sprue rivets, plasticard, gears and tank parts. It still opens at the breach and fires caps too :) Hooray for no glue spillage !

Will you be going with the warhammer engineer or something anime-ish like Trigun....

If you're going Victorian Steam punk then you will need an awesome top hat. Preferably one that opens at the top to reveal a suprise, like a cuckoo :p

All you need is some charm dangling from the grip and you have Vincent Valentine's gun!
Glad to see Im not the only one starting my costume early!

Wow. That is the coolest capgun ever! Sweet!

Hey, I know what you could do for the costume! It's supposed to be a Warmachine-esque pistol, right? Howabout something akin to Commander Strakhov? (http://privateerpress.com/warmachine/gallery/khador/warcasters/kommander-strakhov) Or maybe a Gun Mage Captain? (http://privateerpress.com/warmachine/gallery/cygnar/solos/gun-mage-captain-adept).

Of course, you could always fall back on the "steampunk gentleman" idea, like what Dim suggested, with a tophat and such. A monocle and/or eyepatch is absolutely necessary for such a costume.

Thanks lads :) Glad everyone seems to like it :)

Drak - funny you should mention Strakhov - I just picked the mini up on thursday, and I'm already thinking of building his Riot Gun. A "Warcaster backpack" with a furnace would look pretty awesome and could be built easily if I get my buddy Tom to let me use his workshop - guy builds giant robot sculptures so he has a drillpress, metal grinder, all kinds of tools and materials. My buddy Devin and his girlfriend are in the "Ottawa Steampunk Society" and he's asked me to build him a fancy toy gun for their group's costume events. He says people there would buy these up like crazy :) Could be very cool :)

I had in mind to build up a couple slug guns from warmachine. I love the quad barrel though. I know of 2 mercenaries in the game that have one. Harlan Versch and Master Gunner McDougall I think.

Dev - I was kinda inspired by Dougall MacNaile's "Quad Iron" - On my mini I swapped his left hand for an engineer's hand so he's actually waving it around instead of it being hidden in all his other belt details.
If you do build any Warmachine guns I'd love to see them - I'll probably do a couple more too - there's a hobby store here that sells plastic kit replicas of flintlocks, so I'm thinking of one of those for the base of the next one :)

Interesting and fun, too bad it couldn't be taken to school...

I went to a private school for the first half of my life.

They were mega-conservative Red-state Christians who believed that "boys should be boys".

We were allowed to bring in pocket knives, cap-guns, squirt-guns, those dinky retractable plastic lightsabers, etc, etc. As long as the "goods" didn't come out during class, we were free and clear to use them during recess. Crap was so cash. I think one kid even got away with stabbing another guy in the arm with his Swiss army knife...
