Alright, deadline is up! Post your two core choices here, plus any fiction you've got.

Ok so I went a bit over the top with thirty-three skeletons.......

Here's the Ghouls

I loved doing all of these models, they took no time at all to do and came out beyond all my expectations.
All I'd like to say is bring on next months challenge!!

Well what a month........I must say the tale has seemed a bit of a chore this month, I haven't enjoyed it as much as much as last month. I spent the first half of the month enjoying painting my scout models and coming up with a few nice conversion ideas (as a way to get more elves out of the box), however these took a while for me to paint to a level I was happy with, Which left me not much time to do my 10 Gladeguard.

(more images on my WiP)

I Painted the champion first and alone and this also took some time (although I was happy with the end result).

Combined with other life things getting in the way I feel I've have had to rush my gladeguard to get them done for the tale log. The end result is some very sloppy painting my myself, and incomplete models. They all need about 2-3 more hours work on each one I think. I almost feel a bit cheeky claiming the points!

So In short a month of ups and downs......

Next month I will be dropping points as I only plan to have two core in my army (aiming to stop at 1.5k list for now) and so will do a special unit instead. After this month I am looking forward to spending some time painting a hero at my own pace.

I ain't done nothing, simply hadn't had the time.

Well I've got it all done, and to a good standard (the doggies have been touched up since those pics). My time management could have been somewhat better though. I did nothing at all for the first week, then missed another 7 days of painting time. I was too lazy to get the models primed on the day I built them, it then rained for a full week so I couldn't get my spraybox out and so those 7 days were wasted.

Target for next month is a wizard and my first block of 12 chaos warriors. I have a few bits for converting those guys so I may even make a bonus point

Quick question: no one involved minds if your pictures wind up in the Mag?

Ok going to do something I hardly do on this forum and have a rant....

To be honest its disappointing he lack of post this month....MONTH 2 for crying out loud!! Last month all you had to do was paint one model......and this month very few people have even posted a WIP. A total of 3 finished projects (more or less) out of 7-8 people is just shocking.

I ask those people who couldn't be bothered, why sign up for something if you don't have any Intention of going your best to complete the project?

I know this is just a online forum and not 'real life' but call me old fashion but if I agree to try to do something then I do it, or I let the people know I can't!

As for Honsou's I simply haven't had time...well what a load of! Just check out his WIP to see he's had time but decided to do Space marines instead!

Rant over...

I said I havn't done anything this month, but that would be a lie. I did get the stuff I needed and put it together (Damn corpse cart) just never painted them...

13-04-2010, 06:07 PM
well, Iv made some progress. Agreed I havnt done as much as Id like to have done, but at the same time Iv done the "3 colours" on most, and im compiling a report, will be up later

Ossai you still get points for built units, even unpainted. Just not that many, but it all helps in a competition.

Much easier to do mate, in the little time I do have ;) 40K trumps fantasy alot of the time mate. I'm hoping to free my schedule out a bit this month, so I can spare the time to work on both. We'll see, if it can't be done I'm gonna have to back out mate.

At the end of the day it is a comp. intended to get people to work on their armies. I don't plan to rush through it just to come up within the deadline.

Tall - 12 points

Beautiful ghouls man, really some of the best ive seen online

Faileas - 11 points

Nice colours, could do with toning down the yellows and reds a bit, but hey, we all hate chore units (try night goblins... 70 odd)

Aeth - 11 points

Always great to see marauder horsemen, such beauties. Also like the white wolf. Very much looking forward to the wizard.

Ossai - 2 points

Fiction is fiction, and good fiction is great :D

And so, thats all for March. Poor show really. I know im not actually contributing myself, but still. And Honsou, you jump from projects faster than Hawke these days!

21-04-2010, 04:39 PM
I take offense at that old chap. I don't jump from project to project, nor have I stopped working on my Empire. However, 40K is my priority, and with many more requirements of me on that front it changes priorities. I am still working and will continue to work on my Empire- whether that be in step with the competition or otherwise. To be honest, I don't need the competition to encourage me to get them done: they'll be done when they're done. With this in mind, and the increasing demands of 40K, I'm going to have to drop out of the Tale of Fantasy Gamers.

Sorry chaps. Good luck to the rest of you
