View Full Version : Battering Rams
Has anyone ever seen this model? (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1300180&prodId=prod1140143) I'm looking for warshrine ideas and thought that this would be a good base model for it, but gamewise it needs to fit on a chariot base and I'm not sure how big it is. So if anyone knows for sure would I be OK with one of these?
Thanks in advance.
I don't think it's all that big really. Looking at the wheels and the size of them it may be a touch bigger than a chariot base, but I don't recall it needing to be on one. Mine is a custom job and is about 70mm longer.

I don't know exactly what style you are going for, but you might want to try the LoTR line. I think they made a model for the battering ram used on Minas Tirith. Not sure though.
The only LotR one I could find was just carried by 4 Uruk Hi, its the big frame I want more than the ram.

Have you thought about using the Black Coach from VC's as a base Linky (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1300344&prodId=prod1050079)

I think it'll be a bit longer than a chariot base (70mm, right?). At any rate, I think ChrisSpaceWolves made a warshrine but I can't find it! Might be worth sending off a PM or VM to him.

FYI, each wheel is 2.2 cm wide, if you want to multiply up from that picture. I bought a load of wheels to make my own seige tower and ram some time ago. Sorting out the wheels is as far as I've got with my own warshrine. Still short of ideas !
@ Rex, I did consider that (its what Tall has built his on) and the corpse cart. There is also the carnival of chaos wagon from Mordheim. I'm also pretty sure that Snoza built one out of a steamtank kit.
I was looking at the ram after getting kind of inspired by this AoR artwork:
Only mine will be more open toped to leave room for a scene of depravity
