The New Sand

I wasn't exactly sure where to post this, so I chose here. Please move if necessary.



Is anyone else dissatisfied with the look and feel of the new sand formula? I prefer the chunkier look of the old sand and need to find where I can either purchase a reasonable copy of it or a way to recreate it's look and feel myself. I have used the old formula on most of my older models, and need a close repro to continue with my current projects, for continuity's sake.


Any suggestions would be greatly helpful.

I'd say make your own with differing size ballast. Woodland Scenics makes a variety of sizes and colors of ballast, and I'm sure there are other companies that cater to railroad hobbyists that also make a variety of stuff.
