I was wondering if someone could tell me or show me a tutorial of how to do flames with Green Stuff.

Here's a quasi-tutorial for large scale (http://www.zimbio.com/member/RonSaikowski/articles/2775136/High+Elf+Dragon+Conversion). The same principles apply at a smaller scale: work around a support, and go in layers, gradually adding more detail.
