Ok, here, look:

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f118/RonJonesLP/Imperial%20Fists/evenyellowcolour003.jpg

Over a white undercoat, give two yellow inkwashes, maybe three.

Mix 3:2 Sunburst Yellow and Yellow Ink and apply two coats.

Obviously this is the base yellow, I need to run flesh wash into the lining details and highlight, but I\'ll return when I\'ve done that with updated pics. This is my base coat yellow, the hardest colour of the lot.

Thats it. The proof is above! I got a good even yellow even on the razorback, with all its flat smooth areas!! And I did it on the train!

So grab your brushes, fear yellow no more!

Viva La Dorn!

:woohoo:

Thats acually a good way to do yellow, and it gives a nice orange shade to it. Huzzah!

I ought to add that the flash of the camera takes the brightness out of the colour, they are actually brighter yellow than they look.

Is that colour easily repeated in a small area? For example if your painting the trim and some black flops onto the lovely yellow in a dramatic wrist spasm?

Looks nice:woohoo:

I just hope it\'s won\'t be too difficult to replicate...

Replicate? No worries, its easy man. As for black spills, well, I wont spill any, but yeah, it can be hidden fairly easily. Find the original unstickied how to paint SM post I did, and see if you can spot where I slipped with the black on the main mini... because I did...

Right the next stage is to flesh wash the shaded recesses. I\'ll do the landspeeder and post a pic to show you rather than all of them. Then I\'ll use the speeder as my step by step as it has marines in it too, for this thread. Then I\'ll redo the Space Marines Painting guide using my Company Commander.

Watch this space.

Ok, here\'s the base colour followed by the shading using fine lines and flesh wash:

Ok here is the next stage, re-undercoated the areas black and did the bolgun metal on the metallic areas.

Next step will be the yellow highlights, first colour, but I\'ll probably do the second colour too as in the pics you wont really see it.

Heres the next stage added, with the highlighs applied to the yellow. Its quite a nice effect and I\'m pleased with it... just to do the rest now...
