I was wondering if anybody had some advice on giving my chaos warhounds a little makeover. I want to give them an even meaner chaotic look, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. Any tips and advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
-Jon

Are you taliking about modelling rather than painting?

That is correct.

Add more teeth and spikes and horns, or some mutations that'd be different.

Putting some effort into the bases could help too... You know... Lava cracks... Putrescent growths from the ground... Gore and slime... That sort of stuff

I was thinking...what if I armored up the warhounds a bit? Do you think it would look good, or just plain stupid?

I think armour could look cool. These (http://www.mexicolore.co.uk/uploadimages/343_02_2.jpg) might help. Although you would want to add spikes or something to make it chaosy ;)

Spikes, mutations, general chaosy bits on the models. Heads, body parts and spikes on the bases.

I'm going to try and attempt to do a conversion on the morrow, as long as class doesn't interfere. :exasperated:

how about letting some glue dry around the mouth to make it look like theyre drooling slime/acid/blood? or try heresy miniatures for generic hellhounds

I like that idea. I remember there being a tutorial for that, does anybody know the formula for making saliva?

Glue, water, baking powder? That is, if you want to give them rabies XD

What about some spittle? Or blood?

Red paint? ;)

Haha well I want it to have that shiny quality, or clear saliva. But here are some pics on my progress thus far. I'm not sure if I should add some more armor, and if I did where I would add it. I'm going to rough the current armor up a bit though; gashes and such. Let me know what you think.

Well shiny blood is actually pretty easy. A red paint (blood red or red gore- blood red works best I believe), wash it lightly with a black/dark wash and then dab on a bit of varnish- it'll be a dull blood like red, and it'll look wet with the bit of shine.

2 parts red ink to 1 part purple ink as a base then highlight appropriately. Is how i do wet/drying blood

Add some armor? You could do, say, Chainmail (http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?autocom=ineo&showarticle=436).
