What is the most common colour you use? (Except primer)

I have painted four pots of Blood Red so far.

04-10-2009, 02:48 PM
Mmm, Dark Angels Green for no apparent reason whatsoever...

04-10-2009, 02:52 PM
Chaos Black...I wouldn't really call it a primer, because:

1) I paint my models with the brush instead of spraying them usually.
2) My black templars are black so after primer and painting the details, I apply another coat of black to clean up any daubers while painting the details. Same goes for my Eldar and Tau.

Reds and metals.

Primary colours and metallics will come out on top here. For me it would be:
- chaos black
- blood red / gore red
- boltgun metal
- graveyard earth, have been using it for the side of bases for years now
- incidently due to my Relictors, shadow grey

Umm...Either golden yellow or bleached bone, respectively 'cos Imperial Fists and the best color for highlighting evar.

04-10-2009, 03:49 PM
Every shade of grey imaginable.

04-10-2009, 05:12 PM
Black, or silver.

Chromium Oxide green.

Haven't expected that :D

Castus wins this thread.

What are you talking about? Castus wins the entire dang INTARWEBZ! Lol.

As for colors, judging from the amounts of paint left in my pots, I would say I use Chaos Black the most. Which is strange because I actually don't have black as a main color in any of my color schemes... (Although I do use it pretty often for detailing and highlighting and such...)

Otherwise, the color I use most often would be Chainmail or Burnished Gold. I use metallics on pretty much every one of my minis.

Mmm, Dark Angels Green for no apparent reason whatsoever...

Ditto though there is a reason...Three guesses why and the first two do count

Since the washes came out, I have used about 10 pots of Delvan Mud and 8 Badab Blacks.

05-10-2009, 02:56 AM
for some reason i go through pots of gryphonne sepia wash like nobodys buisness, other than that... Calthan brown because i do all my bases with it

Black, green, all the metallics. I go through brown ink like nuts too.

05-10-2009, 05:06 AM
Inks? Wow. I used to go through a ton of chestnut ink and flesh wash ink. Now, I do not have them. They are out of production. Chestnut ink is now hoarded, and used sparingly. I miss my chestnut ink.

05-10-2009, 08:20 AM
Snot Green, Chaos Black, Golden Yellow and Boltgun Metal.

I never got enough of dem! :p

05-10-2009, 08:43 AM
2 Mechrite reds
2 red gores
2 blood reds
3 boltgun metals
3 blacks

I'm running out of all metals except boltgun because my method of painting silvers involves black, badab black wash, boltgun metal, chainmail, and mithril (and looks exceptional).

05-10-2009, 12:14 PM
Graveyard earth, base coat for bone, wraithbone and skin and every base i have ever painted............

05-10-2009, 04:04 PM
TinBitz and Dwarf bronze, for some reason nearly EVERY model I ever paint has to have some sort of brass/bronze colour and I don't know why!!!

06-10-2009, 03:25 AM
Brown, black, white.. that the ones I use most.

06-10-2009, 05:24 AM
Yellow. I base coat anything that will be red, green or yellow with yellow, I use it to mix with red and green for lighter shades, I highlight Red and Green with it.

08-10-2009, 10:16 AM
Shining gold, it's in most of the mixes I use, AND it is the main color of my SMs. Get through that stuff bout 4 or 5 times faster than the other stuff.

As I'm mostly painting Ork vehicles at the moment, at least a dozen shades of red (different brands, before you ask) plus all the darker metallics.
