Well, after a major burnout on 40k in the local tournament scene, a couple of my buddies and I turned to some of the classics... Specialist games. Been working on some IN, have a few done, thought Id share. I know there are a couple BFG fans here, and C&C is welcome, especially with list building.

So heres what Ive got so far done, its about 830 pts out of the total 2600 I have, and they have been in need of a paintjob for a while...

Left to right; Capital Ships: Lunar, Mars, Dictator Escorts: 3 Cobras, 2 Swords

A new version of Man-O-War? :)

@ Cain - That is a handsome looking fleet you have there, I like the Space Wolves esq colour scheme.

what not the old naval game?

Thanks for the comments, yeah Ive had the box game pretty much since it came out WAY back when... Though never had the chance to play it. After several local 40k Tourneys, my buddies and I were a bit burned out, and started talking about breaking out some of the ole specialist games. I loved Necromunda, and one buddy loved BFG. He sold me his IN fleet, bought Tau, and weve been fiddling with it. I only have the one fleet, but Ive got about 2600 points of it. Been trying to get a ship done here and there inbetween projects.
The colors are taken from my DA scheme. Black base with Shadow Grey Drybrush and SW grey highlights. We hope to work up a campaign involving BFG, 40k, Spacehulk, and a little Necromunda as well. Heavily modified of course. And my little group has been trying to make fleets to reflect their 40k armies. I chose navy cause I run a pre-heresy loyalist DA, and wanted an expedition fleet rather than a space marine strike force. Though I do want to include a few strike cruisers as per the armageddon list rules.
Its actually a very solid rules system. My buddy Ryan is frustrated, cause hes got bad OCD, and with 40k, there were always rules arguments and strategies needing to be figured out. BFG doesnt really have all the conflict. The biggest strategy is focusing fire, and bracing for return fire. Other than that, the table pretty much dictates your movement and the position of the sun can affect your firing. You get bonus firing for being close, and detriment for being too far. Its really solid.

Thanks Hef :D Well, I had originally bought a Retribution class BS cause it just looks so cool, course after some research, and finding out about the +1 LD that the Emperor offers, had buyers remorse, so now ive yanked the weapons batteries off and put flight bays, and covering up the torpedo bays with antennae... It will look a little different than the actual Emperor, but I think it will be passable. Im planning on putting names on all the bases as well, so Ill probly be putting pics up of the individual ships as well. Especially my Emperor... Im thinking of calling it "Light of Truth". Should be a good name for an Expedition Fleet's Flagship huh?
