View Full Version : Imperial Fists 5th Company Captain
10-08-2006, 04:37 AM
Well guys, here he is, Nostro Silmarus, Imperial Fists 5th company captain of my own creation. His weapons are a storm bolter represented by a bolt pistol attached to each gauntlet and a lightning claw, represented by a powered blade attached to each gauntlet too. Kinda like an Imperial Fist pair of GAuntlets of Ultramar. Sort of.
Anyway I used 2 apothecary arms as the basis of the arms and two mordheim plastic great swords as the blades, and standard bolt pistols. The ammo feeds are wire bent into shape and he has an imperial fist backpack on. The body is of an ultramarines veteran.
What do you guys think?
Sorry about the lighting. Only had a lamp...

It would seem it is time for me to deploy Eshara, captain of the third. Good work indra, expect competition.

Thanks you guys, and you can expect to see WIP pics as he gets on. If you want to know how it was done, I\'ll be using the guide I posted at the top of the forum, plus a few more detailed stages.
I may yet add a back banner to give me something cool to work with artwise, I\'m still undecided.
What do we think?

Cool! Never saw that 1st time around!
Are you going to \'special-rule\' him so that those count as a pair of lightning claws?! That would be nasty!
One comment - Hope you\'ve drilled out that gun barrel!

Undecided on the rules. He\'ll be legal, thats a fact.
I was reading up though and hit a snag.
Storm Bolters are Two Handed. This means my plan of Storm Bolter/Lightning Claw combo goes out of the window, and I\'m a little annoyed that I failed to remember to check that. So as it stands, I need to decide what he is armed with.
Oh and he\'s been painted red. A bit. I\'ll post a pic when I decide whether or not to stick with it.
I\'m so stuck... Damn that rock and that hard place...

He can have a SB and a single LC! That\'s completely legal! You\'re allowed 1 2-handed and a single-handed or 2 single-handed weapons... page 22, SM Codex

It is quite a cool miniature there. The pose could have been better though. Those arms would have been better on a assult marine type body.

Wellt he model is based on Nostro Silmarus from the Descent to Chaos Forum in the RPG section. If you want to know more about him then look here (http://www.astronomican.com/index.php?option=com_joomlaboard&Itemid=27&func=sh owcat&catid=43) and click any of threads posted by me to do with Iron Warriors and Imperial Fists and you\'ll get a better understanding.
For those of you who don\'t know, DtC was a fiction map based campaign where we wrote off against one another to determine who won battles. If you\'ve not read it yet, there is some amazing fiction to be found there (Hawke and Me battled off in an incredible three round stand off, with a final round in the interest of good story and sportsmanship which was a 3000 word story- which you simply must read).
So get over there and read some.
