Well, my friend is an avid Skaven player. I play against them alot and so I learned a few things from him...

I think you need a dispell scroll.

I would split the Jezzails into two groups of 5.

I think (but only because I know what it feels like to play against it), that 4 ratling gus are a bit overkill! I would drop one and drop the Ratogres and put in a unit of 15 plague monks!

I would play such a small unit of stormvermin... They just would make it IMO, so I would drop them...

You DEFINITLY need slaves!!!! At least one unit for each unit of Clanrats! And if you have enough pts add more!

The Warplightning cannon is cute. CAN be destructive if the moon is full, and it is a Teusday, and you happen to be wearing red undies and green shoes, and your new neighbour's dog barks 3 times... But not reliable enough for the pts cost. I would drop at least one and add some Globies or PCB's to deal with those big nasties...

We also found that 2250pts is a better format to play... It takes the same time as 2000pts, but it gives you that extra oomph. It is also the standard pts limit for most tournaments... Think about it... :)

And lastly, wait till next month for the new Skaven armybook... Its going to be a KILLER! :D:p

first of all.plauge monks suck!they have no armour,vunerable to heavy troops, heavy cavalry and monsters.
I'll replace a warp lightening cannon for some slaves and in 2250 i add more.
thirdly,my grey seer is too vulnerable for me to drop stormvermin,but in less pionts when i don't have a lord i agree.

i knew i forgot somthing.SLAVES!thanks.

I mean it seems logical to me...

Scary rumors, bringing back the doomwheel! Your new book is well worth waiting for. As for the army list, I'm no skaven pro, but it looks scary.

Based on my own list building there are a couple things wrong with the list. (and if I am mistaken please correct me as I am somewhat new to the Fantasy side of Warhammer.)

1. this is a 2000 point army, so no Lords are allowed anyway.

2. Only one rare unit at 2000 or below.

3. Take the slaves!! They are there to help your other units make it into combat relatively unscathed. Remember they are EXPENDABLE!

4. Plague Monks are your friend! with an incredible 4 attacks apiece that is some heavy hitting!

5. Jezzails are okay, but with the ratling guns you probably don't need them or at least as many of them.

6. Your Rat Ogres provide you the major punch so keep at least a couple of them.

Also, either take some giant rats or rat swarms as these are fast moving units that can get behind the lines quickly to deal with shooty and warmachines. I know you have the Tunnelers, but with their chance of wondering off and the randomness of when they do show you really need something to help as a back-up.

Finally, please take the individual point costs off of the items. Just put in the total cost of the unit with add-ons instead. GW is a stickler for this and we do not want our beloved site taken down because of it. Thank you!

3. Indeed! Slave are a must!

4. It depends on personal taste, but I also think that Plague Monks are VERY scary... And I'm a Chaos player!!! They dish out some heavy damage, and with T4 and Immune to Psychology, they arn't THAT vulnerable!

5. Jezzails are there to take out big nasties! They are very good!

6. Again... personal taste, but IMO and experience with and against them- they're useless!

Sweet. I have just been going out of the book which states you must have more than 2000 points to include a lord. As 2000 and 2001 are pretty close together I can see where it is viable to allow it.

it syas in thr book armies that are up to 2000pts which could br 1994 for example still count as 2000 pt armies if thats the agreed totoal lord is allowed no worries

A Lord is allowed in 2000 points end of story.
Now, onto the list!

SLAVES! You need slaves! They are like... the most useful 2 points per model you could ever spend! I always take at least 40 as cannon fodder and if they happen to beat a unit of archers (it's very easy when they line up in a straight line, thus not getting a rank bonus) in combat, that's just bonus! But I se that's already been addressed.

Plague monks really are excellent though. Frenzied with 2 hand weapons they are basically made to rip lighter enemies (basically enemy troop choices) apart! Not only that, but they will draw a lot less attention than your equally unarmoured rat ogres, and I've found they are usually more effective in a game.

Speaking of units I don't find effective... for the cost of those gutter runners... you could probably get something more useful for whatever purpose you have intended for them (you're planning to use them as war machine hunters and mage munchers right? Or are you going for a march blocker?) Maybe an assassin would be better suited for this job? Or skitter-leaping basically anything back to your enemies mostly undefended flank (with his warmachines and what not) often works much better. I see you do have a grey seer. You've also got the great range and ultra-punch of the jezzails. I say, you wont need the gutter runners.

I totally agree with you Carellio!

I'm not so sure if the assasin is a viable option, but the rest is pretty much a must in my book... well, for now anyway...

Rumours that reached this end of the Dark Contenent whisper scary things of the book to come!....

Mainstay rule falling away; Plague Monks as core; a tunneling monster; not to mention the Doomwheel!... :eek:

plague monks are too vunerable to enemy fire or magic.NO ARMOUR!i charged a unit of dark elf spearmen and i bounced and got killed!

not going to say what the rest said above like the slaves.. but if you take the rat swarm they can counter flying units who can be a pain in the ass when they ripp off your rank bonus. and you can put them with your ogres put the swarms in the ffront ogres on the flank and ur enemy likely to run somewhere soon.
