lizardmen 1000pts

HI astro.

During the time i was working on my 40K army. I was thinking of making a WHFB army as well.

After some long searching, i decide to go with the lizardmen and started to create a army list.

the first step was to create a 1000 pts army. and this is what i came up with:

HEROES:
saurus scar veteran.
with: hand weapon, light armour, addition handweapon.
pts: 94
skink priest: level 2
pts: 100
skink priest: level 2
pts: 100

CORE:
19 saurus warriors.
with: spears, hand weapon, shields, and full command.
pts: 258
10 skink skirmishers.
with: blow pipes.
pts: 70
10 skink skirmishers.
with: blow pipes.
pts: 70

SPECIAL:
5 Cold one riders.
with: hand weapon, spear, shields, and full command
pts: 225

RARE:
1 Razordon.
With: 4 skink handlers.
Pts: 80

GRAND TOTAL: 997 pts

its actually pretty similair to the thousand point lizardman list i used to run
except if i remember rightly

scar vet with shield light armour and the sword of getting extra attacks which name i forget

lv2 skink priest
lv2 slkiink priest

10 skins with blowpipes and brave in skirmish
10 skinks with javs and shields in skirmish with brave

19 saurus with full command
5 cold ones with full command

your list is pretty solid dude, the saurus should get stuckj in and chomp up most things

Cold One Riders always seem prohibitively overpriced IMO but they can be effective. Lack of lances hurts them though. Good list overall :)

Yeah it's a nice list!

I would just drop my warriors to 14 and see if I could field a Kroxi or two... or loads more Skinks...

But thats not neccesarily better- just different...

But the list is solid and sound- the real test will come in battle...

Killer? Didn't the Kroxigors become worse in the new codex? Almost to a point where they are no longer cost effective.

I still did not have a chance to test it out yet. Still too busy getting my 40K 1K pts SM's done (I will be testing my SM army in england first ).

I think that after a few weeks i will be able to begin with lizardmen and get that army complete for testing.

Killer? Didn't the Kroxigors become worse in the new codex? Almost to a point where they are no longer cost effective.

Well, they did drop a strength, but S6 is definitly not bad! Aww, now they are the same as all the other Ogre-type units!:p

BUT.. Now you can field them in a unit of skinks! So they lost a strength, but gained static CR5! And the whole unit has movement 6! That is definitly not bad!

My friend plays 2 units of those, and even my Chaos Warriors have trouble with them! That is not too shabby!

So I think they are definitly worth it!;)
