rules wise as far as i know you cant use them, however if you want to convert one then use a cadien guardsmen las gun stick on a bolter scope and extened the rifle with thin plastic rod (but a banner pole would do fine)

I have found that plastic high elf spear shafts have the same diameter as a bolter barrel so are perfect for extending barrels or making silencers!

There is no reason why you cant convert a sniper rifle for a Space Marine miniature, but in order to use it as a Sniper Rifle you\'d have to use them in games as Scouts.

So what you have is Scouts, but instead of using Scouts mini;s you use Space Marines instead. Maybe you could do a few conversions to make the power armour look lighter, by not using shoulder pads and using helmetless heads? Just a thought for you.

Moving this thread to modelling forum as that\'s where this ought to live.

:)

yer as long as you tell your oppenatnt that there scouts, and try and make thier armour look a little weaker than normal like not useing helmets and shoulder pads.

ps- please dont talk in 3rd person its really hard to understand ;)

As long as your opponent is aware of the rules being used by the miniatures in question that should be ok, provided its not an official tourney, where the rules may be a little more strict.

But basically, I stand by my earlier post, make them look less heavily armoured by leaving off shoulder guards and using helmetless heads. In fact, if you can get bare plastic arms (Chaos Marauders from WHFB anyone?) they might be better to use. Just a thought.

Or you can use the CA rules for the Death Watch. And say that it is a marine with a targetter and extended barrel. makes a bolter into a sniper rifle equivalent. although you can probably change it a little bit to make them some kind of one only BT unit unique to your crusade!
