hey,
Can everyone remember that this is for fun! Please please don\'t just say that you\'re indestructible, and block every move! If you do, YOU WILL NOT WIN!!!
So, why risk losing, when you can win??
GJ
And a little note from wakopanda, for ease of reference:
Basicly, this is a game that we all signed up in to have some fun. and we all signed up with mortal combatants, not indestructible gods or primarchs.
building your own character, writing a good fight and making things orrignial and interesting is far more important than just two people blocking each others moves in 2-3 line posts at every turn, going on for infinity until one person cant be bothered any more. make things interesting, concede the occasional hit, heck concede defeat if there is no sensible way out of this. remember, GJ can give the thumbs up or down (not karma in this case) on any given battle, and the person who wins because they made several unrealistic escapes and conceded no hits will not continue.
just to reiterate: orrigniality, good writing and sportsmanship are worth far more than simply winning the fight in story terms, even within the tournament. remember that.
EDIT:
another point to make. its generally bad form in RPGs and especially one like this to dictate what happens to the other player.
eg: the warlock oppened fire with her pistol at the humans face...
now theres two ways this could continue. the first would be inpolite, the second much less so.
a) the razor edged shards bit into his skin, leaving the human writhing on the ground
b) the shuriken discs sped towards their mark as the warlock rolled aside.
the other player then takes his go and decides what effect the shooting has
that way you are much more fair, and people are more likely to be fair to you. makes it more interesting for all. as a warning, people who dictate the enemy characters actions too much will not win many battles this way!
remember, its a story. make it so. keep things interesting, orriginal and fair. its better for you, for the opponent and for the people who read it afterwards.
