Codex Necrons review - Part II

And here we go again people, time for part two of the review. So lets get stuck right back in there where we left with:

    ----Canoptek Wraiths----
Very mobile, jump infantry with 3 Rending attacks and a 3+ invulnerable save for starters, these guys are the exception to the ‘Necrons can’t fight’-rule. Add in the ability to reduce enemy Initiative to 1 for 10 points and things get interesting. The Wraith also has options for a short ranged pistol weapon and the rather odd Transdimensional Beamer. I for one really don’t see any use for this last option, a Heavy, random shot that hits a single enemy and forces a Strength test simply doesn’t cut it in my book…..especially at 15 points.

    ----Canoptek Swarms----
Cheap, fast, 3 wounds, 4 attacks and Entropic Strike…….nuff said really. These beasties will be included in

Friday Night Fiction - Untitled Eldar fiction

Becoming the resident Eldar fiction representative, Lhykosidae gives the Astronomican another tale of the enigmatic race. Using a beautiful mix of description and emotion, he tells the story of a council of war and the Eldar's coming battle against Chaos. For those who are fans of the Eldar and the different warrior Aspects, this is a must read.

For this Friday Night's Fiction, Lhykosidae's untitled piece is given the spotlight.

Friday Night Fiction - Assault on Barakka

Start at the end and work back to the beginning. Not a very common way for a story to begin, but once that leaves a reader mystified and wanting to know the in-betweens from finish to the start. "Assault on Barakka" gives us a countdown on the who, what, where, when, why and how, written by Eternus. For those who enjoy action-driven stories littered with explosions, and some cunningly brutal Orks, Eternus delivers.

Welcome follower of the old Necrotyr ways and curious genobiologi alike, in this article the Astro Team (in this case Skringly, Skrall and Hephesto) will be going through the many units, wargear and tricks you will be encountering in the near future when your local gaming table gets invaded by the new Necrons. First up Hephesto will discuss 10 'things to keep in mind when facing the Necrons, after which each individual unit and character will be discussed, finishing with some discussion on the greyer areas in the rules.

    I. ENCOUNTERING THE NECRONS

When encountering the new Necrons there are quite few, new things to keep in mind:
    1. Though the new codex has a lot of powerful stuff in it, nothing jumps out as much as in other codices like the Grey Knights and Dark Eldar. Though we are bound to see quite a lot of Canoptek Swarms, Stormlords and Crypteks ...

Momentum can be defined as "mass in motion." All objects have mass; so if an object is moving, then it has momentum - it has its mass in motion. The amount of momentum that an object has is dependent upon two variables: how much stuff is moving and how fast the stuff is moving. Momentum depends upon the variables mass and velocity. In terms of an equation, the momentum of an object is equal to the mass of the object times the velocity of the object.

From the definition of momentum, it becomes obvious that an object has a large momentum if either its mass or its velocity is large. Both variables are of equal importance in determining the momentum of an object. Consider a Mack truck and a roller skate moving down the street at the same speed. The considerably greater mass of the Mack truck gives it a considerably greater momentum. Yet if the Mack truck were at rest, then the momentum of the least massive roller skate would be the greatest. ...
